Prysmian Atkore Sales Network: What U.S. Electrical Contractors Should Check

Prysmian Atkore acquisition and North American electrical infrastructure

Short answer: Prysmian completed its acquisition of Atkore on October 19, 2026, and announced a new U.S. Industrial and Construction sales representative network later the same day. The change matters to electrical contractors and distributors looking for cable, conduit, framing and cable-management products. It does not mean that product prices, availability, specifications or existing purchase contracts automatically changed.

The Prysmian–Atkore acquisition timeline explains the transaction and shareholder vote. Drawing on Prysmian’s public announcements and U.S. filings, this guide explains what buyers can verify when obtaining quotes and planning electrical-material purchases after the merger. This is research based on published documents, not first-hand U.S. contracting experience.

What Changed After Prysmian Closed the Atkore Deal?

The deal closed on October 19, 2026. Atkore’s SEC Form 8-K confirms that the merger was completed and that former common shares, subject to specified exceptions, were converted into the right to receive $95 per share in cash. Atkore also requested the removal of its stock from the New York Stock Exchange.

Prysmian then announced a unified manufacturing representative network for its U.S. Industrial and Construction business. The company said it had combined legacy Prysmian | Encore Wire representatives and Atkore representatives to bring its wider portfolio to distributors and contractors through one regional network.

This is a sales-channel announcement, not a confirmed change to every wholesaler’s inventory or a new nationwide price list. Product ordering and project delivery still need to be checked locally.

Which U.S. Sales Representatives Are Involved?

Prysmian published a territory-based agency list on October 19. The examples below come from that announcement; the full official list is more detailed and sometimes divides states into separate territories.

Territory exampleAgency named by Prysmian
ArizonaApex Electrical Sales, Inc.
Texas, Oklahoma and New MexicoMcCreary Sales
FloridaGorin-Cockrell-Decker FL (GCD)
Oregon, Washington, Alaska and northern IdahoCascade Western
North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia outside Northern VirginiaVincent-Angel, Inc.

A contractor in Northern Virginia, for example, should not assume the same representative is responsible for all of Virginia. The published map splits Northern Virginia from the rest of the state. Likewise, New York is divided into different territories. For an active bid, ask the supplier to confirm the applicable territory rather than relying on a broad state abbreviation.

The official announcement also directs customers to the Prysmian | Encore Wire representative locator. This should be your first stop for a current contact, not an old sales-agency list saved from before the merger.

What Does the Combined Product Portfolio Mean for Contractors?

Prysmian and Encore Wire bring substantial wire and cable capabilities. Atkore adds adjacent electrical infrastructure products, including conduit, cable management and metal framing. These categories may appear together on one project bill of materials, but they still require separate technical checks.

Consider a data-center electrical room: feeders, raceways, tray systems, supports and related fittings might all be required. The opportunity for Prysmian is to offer a wider electrical package. The practical benefit for a distributor may be easier coordination between product lines, but that benefit must be demonstrated in quotations, stock and delivery performance rather than assumed from a merger announcement.

Six Things to Check Before Requesting an Electrical-Material Quote

  • 1. Verify the exact product family. Confirm whether your request is for conductor, conduit, cable tray, metal framing, fittings or a bundled schedule. Similar product names are not automatically interchangeable.
  • 2. Confirm the current representative and distributor. The new agency map identifies representatives, not guaranteed local stock or direct purchasing eligibility.
  • 3. Keep the engineering specification. Match material, dimensions, listing or certification, environment and applicable project requirements before treating two catalog numbers as equivalents.
  • 4. Ask for written availability. Confirm lead times, backorders, minimum order quantities and delivery location for the exact item.
  • 5. Compare total delivered cost. Include freight, accessories, special handling and the cost of substitutions or delayed shipments instead of comparing headline material prices alone.
  • 6. Reconfirm existing orders. Do not assume a merger changes a purchase order or warranty. Ask the contracting distributor how an existing order will be supported.

Will Conduit, Cable Tray or Electrical Cable Prices Change?

The October 19 announcement does not establish an across-the-board price increase or price reduction for contractors. Broader purchasing scale and a unified representative network could create opportunities for coordination, but they do not prove lower costs at the jobsite.

Material prices depend on product type, copper or steel inputs, fabrication, freight, project volume, supplier stock and negotiated terms. A sales representative also is not necessarily the wholesaler that issues your invoice. For that reason, the defensible comparison is an itemized quote from authorized distributors, not a prediction about post-merger prices.

The same caution applies to product selection. A cable-management accessory from one catalog is not automatically compatible with a differently branded tray or support system. Follow manufacturer-approved installation details and the project engineer’s specification.

What Should Distributors Watch Next?

Prysmian named Brian Moriarty as President of Atkore while retaining his Industrial and Construction leadership role at Prysmian | Encore Wire. The company also said former Atkore chief executive Bill Waltz would become a strategic adviser. These leadership announcements show that integration has begun, but not that measurable purchasing benefits have already appeared.

Useful evidence over the next few quarters would include updated distributor line cards, order fulfillment performance, cross-selling examples, product availability and operating margins. For an electrical contractor, the most immediate test is simpler: can the local supplier provide the correct items together, at a competitive delivered cost, without compromising project schedules or technical approvals?

Bottom line: the deal is complete and the U.S. sales network has changed. Treat the announcement as a reason to confirm representatives and request better coordinated quotes, not as proof of any specific price or specification change.
